Q: Tell us a little bit about what is it that you’re doing in the healthcare space that has made your company the top-four Canadian startup in 2020 on LinkedIn?
A: What we are doing is not different than what has been done before. It’s how we do it. It’s really about embedding technology and changing the mindset and how technology enables care.
I know everyone is afraid of technology. One of the big things that we have been successful on in our company for the last few years is the ability to onboard thousands of caregivers. Think about creating a gig environment. The biggest challenge that we faced originally when we first started the organization was that everything was done manually, and we wanted to automate the process. At a healthcare facility, one of the biggest challenges they face is, if they need a resource, the time it takes to fill that open shift can be anywhere from a couple of hours to days. What we were able to do is to remove that into minutes. That was one of the big game-changers for us as an organization. If someone needed a resource, simply go online and choose the type of qualifications you are looking for and book that person. The job acceptance with it is within minutes versus hours and days. That was one of the big game-changers for us.
The next part is the types of organizations we currently work with today. We work with some of the largest players in the industry today. A company, being in the industry for a few years, working with the top facilities and organizations in the country, that is also a game-changer; people started looking at us as a force to be reckoned with, that we are becoming a disrupter in the industry. Keeping in mind that, at the same point, we were able to scale fairly efficiently because it’s all technology-driven…
